A powerlase laser

aerospace

In aerospace and gas turbine manufacturing markets, thermal barrier coatings have been extremely difficult to process using conventional means. POWERLASE is working with a selection of world-renowned commercial and academic institutions to develop applications that answer these challenges.

The high power, high repetition rates, short pulses, and good beam properties of POWERLASE lasers allow the accurate, high quality, drilling and shaping of Nickel Super Alloys, as well as the selective removal of surface coatings such as Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) without cracking or delaminating.
