Powerlase Launches Korean Service Centre

POWERLASE Limited, manufacturers of the world’s most powerful nanosecond Q-switched, diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) lasers, today announces the opening of a major service centre in Korea. The move establishes a permanent presence for POWERLASE in Korea, demonstrating its continued commitment to Korea.

The office is located in the city of Daegu and will act as a service centre for POWERLASE’s Korean customer base, which includes two of the world’s leading PDP manufacturers in Samsung and LG.

The office will be staffed by a local team of highly skilled, UK trained service engineers and support staff who will help POWERLASE meet the needs of high volume manufacturers by providing high-quality customer care, service support and rebuild capabilities for the POWERLASE laser products at a local source. Additionally, the centre will act as a test and collaboration facility to assist customers in the development of tailor made products, and a training facility for POWERLASE customers’ engineers.

Spare parts for all POWERLASE lasers will also be available in Korea, thereby ensuring swift and efficient delivery of additional components for customers. POWERLASE plans to develop an application laboratory in 2007.

Company comments

Tong King, CEO of POWERLASE, said, “In the past two years we have signed significant deals with leading Korean PDP manufacturers. Our new Korean service centre will allow us to better service the needs of important customers and to ensure that we continue to provide our customers with the specialist knowledge that they require, and for which POWERLASE is renowned.”

The Korean service centre will be jointly manned by Laser Spectronix, POWERLASE’s major distribution partner for Korea. Dr. Jomsool Kim, President of Laser Spectronix, comments, “By establishing and maintaining a permanent presence in Korea, POWERLASE is sending exactly the right messages to its customers in the region. It is best practice to offer local support to customers – this is exactly what POWERLASE and Laser Spectronix are striving for.
